The story
Goldfield sprang to life in 1892 when gold was discovered in the Superstition Mountains, growing to a population of 4,000 before the mines gave out and the town was abandoned just four years later. The town was briefly revived in 1910 and again in the 1930s. Now restored as a tourist attraction, Goldfield is said to be one of the most authentically haunted ghost towns in Arizona.
