The story
Wolfe Manor in Clovis, California, began as a grand 1920s estate house and, like many big houses of its era, was converted mid-century into a sanitarium and convalescent hospital, decades in which patients lived and died within it — a documented institutional past that seeded everything after. In the 1990s an owner ran it as a celebrated Halloween haunted attraction, 'Scream If You Can', until neighbourhood pressure closed it, and in the 2000s it became a fixture of paranormal television, with investigators and visitors describing shadow figures in the corridors, voices, screams attributed by legend to the sanitarium years, cold spots and a hostile presence in certain rooms. The building's later history is one of decay, partial demolition orders and long limbo, and its current physical state and ownership must be confirmed before this record is approved — the site may be substantially altered or gone, with no public access either way.
