Opened in 1856, the Omni Parker House is the oldest continuously operating hotel in America and the birthplace of Boston cream pie and the Parker House roll. The Harvey Parker suite on the third floor is the most consistently reported, with Parker himself allegedly appearing at the foot of guests' beds. Actor John Wilkes Booth stayed here ten days before assassinating President Lincoln, and Charles Dickens gave the first public reading of A Christmas Carol in the hotel dining room.
