The story
The Grove Park Inn opened in 1913 on Sunset Mountain above Asheville, North Carolina, a massive resort built from local granite boulders with a famous Arts and Crafts interior, and over the years it has hosted presidents, writers including F. Scott Fitzgerald, and countless other notable guests. Its best-known ghost story is the 'Pink Lady', said to be a young woman who died after a fall from an upper floor of the Palm Court atrium in the 1920s; she is now associated with a gentle presence, a drifting pink mist or glow and playful, harmless activity, particularly around room 545 and the older main wing. Guests and staff report cool breezes, lights and devices behaving oddly, objects moving and a sensed presence. The resort acknowledges the legend.
