About this attraction
The Bates Motel is a professionally themed haunted house located at Arasapha Farm in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Inspired by the infamous motel from Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, it forms the centrepiece of the farm's annual Haunted Hayride Halloween attraction, which also includes a wooded hayride and a haunted trail through the cornfields. Although created purely for entertainment rather than based on genuine hauntings, its elaborate sets, live actors and cinematic special effects have made it one of the Philadelphia region's most popular Halloween destinations.
