The story

Famous for its oak-lined avenues draped in Spanish moss, elaborate Victorian monuments and peaceful riverside setting, Bonaventure Cemetery is one of Savannah's most iconic landmarks. Established on the site of a former plantation, it became internationally recognised through the book and film Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Still an active cemetery today, it attracts visitors from around the world, many drawn by its haunting atmosphere as much as its history and scenery.
